I will show how to convert from full color image to a 3 color separation in GIMP. After learning the tutorial you can make 4, 5, and so on; color separation. With a few color it is also easier to vectorized it, such as with Inkscape.
The 3 colors are: white, gray, and black.

OK so we need free alternative software which have these capability: read pdf, add comments, annotations, or stamps; split or merge pdf, add security, and print everything into pdf.

PDF-XChange Viewer + doPDF + PDFTK = Adobe Acrobat Professional

These are the software we need. It’s lightweight, freeware, and available in portable version.

1. PDF-XChange Viewer (Info | Portable)

This is a PDF reader and editor. You can add comments, annotations, stamps, and dozen of professional features. Only 4MB (15MB after extract) download!

2. doPDF (info)

doPDF is a free PDF converter for both personal and commercial use. Using doPDF you can create PDF files by selecting the “Print” command from virtually any application.

3. PDFTK Builder (info | portable)

It is a GUI frontend to the command-line based PDFTK. It supports the following operations on PDF files: merge, split, background, decrypt and password protection.

The CV design is inspired from Smashing Magazine. Designed with Serif DrawPlus SE, it’s a good free vector drawing software, the best alternative for CorelDRAW. Also another format designed with Scribus, a free desktop publishing software. You must download first one of these software.
