[Android App Review] Night Camera+ Photo Comparison vs. Stock Camera

Night Camera+ is an Android camera app that enhances photo result taken in low light condition. I think it gives better result than stock camera. Below is the example taken from meeting room enlighten by some dim lamp. Click the image to see higher resolution.

Samsung Galaxy 5 (i5503 in Asia or i5500 in Europe) display scratch test using cutter

It doesn’t scratched and the touch function still working well. It’s rumored that the phone use Gorilla Glass.
But it seems not all Galaxy 5 using scratch-resistant display since some users report their phone got scratched.
I bought this phone in November 2010.

We not talked about InkScape or OpenOffice or QCAD. These software is amazing for me because the tools and the way they used are almost the same with the commercial one. The softwares are:

1. Serif DrawPlus SE — alternative to CorelDRAW.

2. Kingsoft Office Personal 2007 — alternative to Microsoft Office 2003. Download here.

3. progeSOFT progeCAD Smart 2009 — alternative to AutoCAD and not for commercial use.

Got this inspiration because I feel the temperature under my laptop is quite hot. Since the original laptop stands is low, so the air circulation is not good for heat release. And I got this idea after seeing bunch of plastics waste – most of them is bottle and separated from organic waste – in my house. Well, why not use the bottle caps for laptop stands ^^

I also use broken file binder for laptop base if I use my laptop in bedroom.

Install G 103M Driver on Windows 7

nVidia GeForce G 103M ussually used in notebook for the VGA adapter. Recently I had problem when install it in Windows 7 for my laptop, HP Compaq Presario CQ40-419TX. nVidia has provide the driver in their website [download here], but the driver couldn’t be installed in Windows 7. Windows only want to use default Windows VGA driver instead from nVidia. After doing some experiment, I got the solution.
Download the driver, run the file, 186.03_notebook_win7_32bit_international_whql.exe. If you click it, it will extract firstly to the drive, usually in C:\NVIDIA. Don’t continue the installation, it won’t work since it will only install the HD Audio driver, not the VGA driver. We only need the extracted files.

How To:

1. Open Device Manager -> Display Adapters -> right click on Standard VGA Adapter -> Update Driver Software…
2. Browse my computer for driver software -> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
3. Click on Have Disk… button.
4. Browse in C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\186.03\International\Displ ay\nvaa.inf
5. Select G 103M. OK.
Now you can experience the aero / 3D flip effect ^^

And for the audio driver, I only use from Windows default, since the driver from HP (for Vista) didn’t work.

Bagi yang belum tau tentang phising bisa lihat deskripsi lengkapnya di Wikipedia (english) (bahasa Indonesia). Intinya adalah penipuan yang dilakukan oleh pengelola web untuk mendapatkan informasi, biasanya username dan password, dari pengunjung web tersebut.
Mungkin modus yang biasa ketahui biasanya sebuah web tersebut mempunyai url yang mirip dg suatu web yang biasa dikunjungi, misal web clickbca.com yang seharusnya web resmi BCA adalah kilkbca.com.
Namun modus yang dilakukan pengelola web www.summer-picz.com berbeda. Web ini menampilkan sebuah kotak login yang mengajak pengunjungnya untuk mengisi user name dan password, bisa Yahoo! atau MSN atau Google. Penipuannya dilakukan dengan mengirimkan pesan lewat Internet Messenger seperti Yahoo!, MSN, atau GTalk. Jadi bila seseorang telah tertipu untuk mengisi informasi loginnya, si “penjahat” ini akan mencuri informasi loginnya lalu menyebarkan link web ini ke teman-temannya korban lewat pesan di messenger. Sehingga teman-teman si korban tidak menyadari bahwa si pengirim bukanlah temannya.
Jadi berhati-hatilah kejahatan Internet (Cybercrime) sudah semakin pintar saja, tidak hanya mengandalkan teknologi semata tetapi dengan teknik yang bernama Social Engineering
Saya cerita begini karena banyak temen-temen yang sudah tertipu padahal lulusan IT (doh).

Dua minggu ini dapet notebook pinjeman dari dosen kuliahku, pak Haris. Karena ada bluetoothnya langsung aja dijajal gampang ga seh Internetan pake HP sebagai modemnya tanpa perlu nginstall Nokia PC Suite. Dan hasilnya memuaskan karena konfigurasi yg gampang. Berikut ulasannya.
Notebook: Acer Aspire 2920Z
HP: Nokia 3110 classic
Operator: Indosat M3

Pengaturan di HP

Aktifkan Bluetooth di HP: Settings -> Connectivity -> Bluetooth -> On

Pengaturan di notebook

Notebook Acer ini telah menyediakan tombol di keyboard untuk mengaktifkan Bluetooth, jadi tinggal pencet aja deh sung aktif. Pada Windows, buka My Bluetooth Place -> Add a Bluetooth Device. Setelah hapenya telah terdeteksi, lewati (Skip) opsi tuk mengisi security key, pada pilihan Bluetooth Service, pilih Dial-up networking.
Klik dua kali pada icon [nama hape] Dial-up networking, untuk pertama kali biasanya di hape akan ada konfirmasi untuk konek dengan notebook. Lalu akan muncul jendela Connect BluetoothConnection.

Konfigurasi Internet dengan Indosat M3

Dial: *99***1#
Untuk pemakaian volume based (Rp 1.1/kB):
Username: gprs
Password: im3
Untuk pemakaian time based (Rp 110/menit):
Username dan password: indosat@durasi
Bila tarif masih dirasa mahal, Indosat telah menyediakan Voucher Internet Indosat, dengan tarif Rp 10/30dtk atau Rp 5000 selama 250mnt.

Walaupun ga cepet2 amat, sering dc, n nguras baterai hape juga; tandem ini bisa berguna disaat2 genting klo koneksi Internet tidak tersedia dan sangat dibutuhkan *pengalaman*.
