LAYISO command isolates the layer of selected objects so that all other layers are turned off. This is very useful to quickly reduce the visual complexity of a drawing without open the Layer Properties Manager.

Before:

Before isolating layer(s)

After:

After isolating layer(s)

How To:

  1. Type layiso [enter].
  2. Choose object(s) you want to isolate [enter].
  3. If you want to hide the other layer, unsiolate first if you have isolate layer(s), after type layiso [enter], type s for settings.
  4. Type o for Off [enter], then choose the object(s)
  5. To unisolate, type layuniso [enter]

I agree whole heartedly, that the LAYISO command is a very useful one. There are a few good ones on the LAYERS II toolbar. I also find the LAYERWALK command a great shortcut for use on complex drawings. I have lately started using the DYNAMICVIEW command for most of the same reasons, and in similar applications.

Are you familiar with the SOLPROF command? It is extremely useful when working from 3D solids.

hmm nice info. I think solprof useful for 3D object projection. I ussualy work with 2D drawing, so I rarely use this command.
