Setting Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail in Android Email


Without install any 3rd app, you can receive and send email from Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail in Android default Email app.
Incoming server settings

Yahoo! Mail

1. Run Email app
2. In Set up email window, fill Email address and Password, then click on Manual setup in bottom-left corner.

3. Choose IMAP account.

4. In Incoming server settings, fill User name (just user name) and Password.
For IMAP server: imap.mail.yahoo.com,
Port: 143, click Next.

5. In Outgoing server settings, for SMTP server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com,
Port: 587, click Next.

6. The next settings is up to you.

Hotmail

1. Click menu button then click Account -> menu again then Add account.
2. In Set up email window, fill Email address and Password, then click on Manual setup in bottom-left corner.
3. Choose POP3 account.
4. In Incoming server settings, fill User name (just user name) and Password.
For POP3 server: pop3.live.com,
Port: 995,
Security type: SSL, click Next.

5. In Outgoing server settings, for SMTP server: smtp.live.com,
Port: 587,
Security type: TLS, click Next.

6. The next settings is up to you.

  • I feel that, this is a different and easiest method. I am not familiar in android. What is the benefit in this method?   Why I should set yahoo-mail and hotmail in android email?

    Slamat siang mas bambang.
    Account ymail yg digunakan free ymail?
    Knp pas set imap tdk berhasil, user&pass salah. Padahal yg disi sdh benar mohon bantuanya

    • iya kadang-kadang saya juga ngalamin kaya gitu, ngga tau kenapa. tapi kadang juga berhasil. makanya saya total migrasi ke gmail 😀
